TACTICS TUTORIAL

Choose your language

Welcome to this tutorial which will make you understand and do so you'll be able to create your own tactics.

First, to be able to create your owns tactics, you'll have to own JAVA (www.java.com)

After that, go to the tactics main screen. (For an easy use, all this tutorial will use the English CSM Menu)

New Tactic

On this new screen, there are some different Points you can modify:

Name
Name you will give to your tactic.
Map
Map on which you wanna create your tactic.
Type
- Standard : It's a normal round, with weapons.
- Eco : Like it said, it's a tactic you'll only use when you will be in eco.
- Pistol : This is your Pistol round, it means the first round on Terro/CTerro side.
Team
- Terrorist : To create a tactic for the Terrorist side.
- Counter-terrorist : To create a tactic for the Counter-terrorist side.

Once these informations are ok, click on Create tactic.

If you have correctly install JAVA, you'll see this window (I have chosen de_aztec).

de_aztec

Well, the tutorial will really begin now.

First, look over the contents of this window:

A
Show the line-up A (to modify it, go in the Lineup tab in the Tactics menu).
B
Show the line-up B (to modify it, go in the Lineup tab in the Tactics menu).
Players list
Players's name who compose your chosen Line-up.
Overview
Allow you, once you had create your tactic, to see an... overview of the "Points" you've created for the team.
Save
To save your tactic.

Now, let's start with tactics.

First of all, you have to click on a players name to be allowed to see the actions he can do on this tactic. In my example, I've clicked on Gohan

Once your player is taken, make a right-click on the map. A menu will appear with some options.

Create points

We will now look them over more detailed, one by one, the different "Points" which we're able to create.
So here it goes:

Create Waypoint

If you click on Create Waypoint, a circle appear (it will have the color of your player) inside of it it will be the number 1. If you create a second waypoint, it will have the number 2, and so on. It's possible to create up to 9 different "Points". You can, however, create less than 9 "points", but you can't create more than 9.

I've created a waypoint, but what's the effect of it?

A Waypoint is a crossing point, it let your player(s) walk to a place the fastest route (here, Gohan) without syncing (explained further down) with your other players. Let's see the exemple right down here.

Waypoint

Instead of explaining with words, here is a video showing how this tactic will work in practic. (follow the player named Gohan).

As you can see, my player walked trough the waypoints I choosed before and never stopped. He stopped at the 3rd Point, but that's because I did not create a 4th one Point. So, the player stopped at the last created Point, the 3rd one, in this case.

If you make a right-click on the Waypoint, a menu will appear with the options you can choose.

Menu

Insert Waypoint
Allow you to add a Waypoint after the first you had select. For exemple, if you have created 3 Waypoints, but you want to create a new one between the 2nd and the 3rd ones, this is possible with this option. Make a right-click on the 2nd Waypoint, click on Insert WayPoint, and so, you can see a Waypoint 3 had been created on top of the 2nd Waypoint, which will bring the 3rd Waypoint in the 4th position.
Convert to Syncpoint
Allow you to convert a Waypoint into a Syncpoint (to see the effect of the Syncpoint, read right bellow.
Convert to Waitpoint
Allow you to convert a waypoint into a Waitpoint (To see the effect of the Waitpoint, read right bellow.)
Convert to Camppoint
Allow you to convert a waypoint into a Camppoint (To see the effect of the Camppoint, read right bellow.)
Clone
Allow you to clone your Waypoint to all of your Lineup players. Perfect if you want to rush with all of your players, and if you want them in the same places.
Remove
To delete the Waypoint.

That's all about the Waypoint, let's see what's up with the second one.

Create Syncpoint

If you click on Create Syncpoint, a square will appear with a viewsight (where your player aim). If it is your first Point, you'll see the number 1 inside the square, like with the waypoints. Probably don't need to explain this further, quite logical.

I've created a syncpoint, but which effect will it have on my player ? And what is this "Viewsight"?

A Syncpoint is like it's called: A point made for syncing your players together so they can walk together or start walking at same time. It shows that the selected player have to stop at the expected point.
All simply, this "viewsight" shows the direction that your player is aiming. You can modify it by making a left click on this Syncpoint and move your mouse. When you're happy with the direction your player is looking, make a left click on the aim.

If you make a right click on the Syncpoint, a menu will appear, showing you the same options as for the Waypoint, with one difference: a new option will appear, called Sync Timer. This option allow you to decide how long your player will stay at the selected syncpoint. Now you can choose some options:

Let CL decide
CL decides(varies from 2 to 5)
2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 seconds
Here you can choose for how long your player should wait at the selected syncpoint.

Let's see an example with a series of some Waypoints and syncpoints.

Syncpoints

Notice that the fourth Syncpoint will last longer time than the third one, since the timers isn't the same. The second Syncpoint doesn't have any timer, so it will be your CL who'll decide for him.The fifth Syncpoint is the last Point of my player, so there is no need to set a timer for him since he'll stop move here. Let's see it:

Last but not least, and I will conclude this section with this: the Syncpoints of a player is interesting when you associate them with the Syncpoints of the other players.
Lets imagine 4 of your players have exactly the same Syncpoint, but the fifth one have a different syncpoint, far away on the map. Regardless of the set timer for 4 players who have the same Syncpoint, they will automatically wait untill the fifth player has reached his syncpoint. When he reached it, the timer begin for the 5 players. See more:

Syncpoints2

I will coment on this screen, because there are several important things (a video will follow to help you). First, 4 players (here; Gohan, Broly, Bejitto and Gotenks) have exactly the same Syncpoints ( i didn't put them one on another, so that you can see every Point of each player) and a player (here: Gojita) had a Syncpoint a little far away but with exactly the same timer than the Fourth ones. To reach their second Syncpoint, the fourth players will wait, above all, Gojita has reach his first Syncpoint, and then, they will wait the 4 attributed seconds.

Next what's going on? Beacause there are some Waypoints in the middle...

Afterward, This is easy. Once the 4 seconds of the first Syncpoints timer has passed, the fourth players will join their second Syncpoint (that one for 2 seconds), BUT Gojita will not make the exact same thing. Before he go back with his mates, he will walk to the next Point (the number 2) which is here a Waypoint, a passage point without any stop. Once he has crossed this Point, he'll reach and cross the 3rd one, which is a Waypoint too, and then, he'll reach his mates at the 4th Point, which is a syncpoint.

How is it possible that the other players have waited the last player, considering that their timer was about 2 seconds... ?

As i said before, the Syncpoints take all their effects according to the ones of your full team. As long as Gojita h'dn't reach the 2nd Syncpoint (4th Point, but only the 2nd Syncpoint, others being Waypoints), the others players (who already were at the 2nd Syncpoint) will wait their mate, despite of the 2 seconds timer. This timer will only go forward once their mate will reach his 2nd Syncpoint. And then, lastly, when everyone reach destination to their 2nd Syncpoint, and once the timer will end (in this case: 2 seconds), they will continue with their 3rd Syncpoint. (Number 3 for the 4 players and number 5 for Gojita). You can see I have not put any timer for this Syncpoint, hence this is the last Point of my tactic, so there is no need to put a timer for this Syncpoint as it's the final destination. I know it look like something complicated, but let's see the outcome with this video:

The Syncpoint part is finally finished. Let's go to the 3rd one.

Create Waitpoint

If you click on Create Waitpoint, a triangle, with the tip face down, will appear with a viewsight. Like for the others points we already gone trough: if it is your 1st triangle, it will be inscribe the number 1, and so one...
Like for the other points, a right click allow to reach to a menu (explained in the Waypoint part).

I've created a Waitpoint, what effect does it have on my player?

A Waitpoint is a really important point for your whole team. I mean, it's a wait point where the player stay the whole game: when (if) he dies, your other players continue with their Points. Maybe it ain't so clear, so let me give you a bit more concrete example. Let's see this screen:

Waitpoint

Note : you can't see all the player's Syncpoints, simply because they're all on the same point, but don't worry, they are there.
So, what can we see on this screen? 4 players are together (Gohan, Broly, Bejitto et Gotenks) in one Syncpoint, and only one (Gojita) in Waitpoint. So, now, what's going on? When Gojita die, the 4 others players will reach their 2nd Point. For the lover of CS or CSS, it's like if Gojita, when he died, gave a piece of information to the others players, to inform them they have to move (The enemies are here). This Point is very useful, if you can put 4 guys in a strategic patch or camp in a corner (in Bombsite, for example) let one player be at other bombsite with waitpoint selected. If this guy dies, he will ask for back-up, anyway. Here is the video:

As you can see: from the moment Gojita is dead, the others have continued to their 2nd Point.
As you can see, I havn't put any timer for the Syncpoints, knowing that the players only will start to move when his mate with waitpoint is dead: Let's now go to the 4th, and last part.

Create Camppoint

If you click on Create Camppoint, a triangle with the tip high, will appear with a viewsight.
Like for the others points, a right click will allow you to reach the menu (explained in the Waypoint part).

I've created a Camppoint, what effect does it have on my player?

First you have to know you can't put any Point after the Camppoint, that is to say the Camppoint will always be the last one. As you probably understand by the "Camppoint" name, this is a camp Point. If you set this Point to a player, it will be his last one, anyhow the action of the others players. Take a look at it:

Camppoint

On this screen, we can see 4 players together (Gohan, Broly, Bejitto et Gotenks), and 1 player isolated (Gojita). Let's see the Point of this player, which is a Camppoint and thereby he will not (in any occasion) move. This time, the others players will join togheter at the 1st Syncpoint (with a timer of 2 seconds), then they'll reach the 2nd Syncpoint (with a timer of 7 seconds), then, they'll cross the 3rd Point (a Waypoint) to lastly reach at the 4th Point, which is also a Syncpoint. While this time, Gojita hasn't moved from his Camppoint. Don't forget, this Point can be interesting, but once you put it, you will not be able to put another Point, after this one. Take a look at the video:

Conclusion & thanks

Well, i think i have completed thi tutorial. I hope it will help you to create good tactics, but don't forget, it's your turn to test you tactics, you will not create some perfect tactic on your first try. So, persist, try the differents Points i've introduced to you, make various combinations and you will see the result (you've to be V.I.P., for that :D). The PCWs are there to test you tactics, like you Ladders or Friendly leagues. Good luck.

Thanks to kazam to let me tried the tactics for this tuto, during our PCW.
